THE YELLOW WRISTBAND

IMAGE: yellow-wristband

Earlier this year, Alma Jacinto and other parents who have been separated from their children were being identified by a yellow bracelet on their left wrist.

In solidarity with these parents and children, who should never be forced to endure the trauma of family separation, we wear yellow wristbands on June 14th and stand up to say that #FamiliesBelongTogether.

At multiple Families Belong Together events, participants will take place in a raised-fist moment of silence.

- Please raise your fist if you have ever been separated from or lost a sibling
- Please raise your fist if you have ever been separated from a grandparent
- Please raise your fist if you have ever been separated from a friend, spouse or lover
- Please raise your fist if you have ever been separated from a parent
- Please raise your fist if you have ever been separated from a child
- Can all the children please raise your fist
- Can all the fathers please raise your fist
- Can all the mothers please raise your fist
- Everyone please raise your fists

We raise our fists in solidarity with the families that have been torn apart systematically by this administration. Make no mistake, this is a new policy whose sole aim is to terrorize these families and use their children as a way of deterring others from seeking refuge at our borders. This is unacceptable and it must stop now.
